Read the role before spending the stars

A star cost tells you how much of your entered equipment budget a troop uses. It does not establish a universal ranking. Start with the job you need: a frontline presence, protection for ranged troops, reach, or mobility. A troop that suits that job still needs to fit beside your other choices.

For example, Archer and Crossbowman are both reported as ranged troops, but their listed costs are one and three stars respectively. That difference matters when building the whole lineup. The table provides a starting point for comparison; it does not contain measured damage, win rates, or a promise that the more expensive troop will suit every match.

Use the role-based troop comparison when you want to weigh those jobs against your current lineup. Use the reference here when you already know a troop name and need to check its place in the dated roster.

Available, owned, and equipped are separate checks

  1. Available to recruit: inspect the current recruiting or banner menu. A name in a guide, video, or tutorial is not enough to establish that it is in the current pool.
  2. Owned: check your collection for the troop you want to use. A reference entry describes a troop; it does not mean that troop has been added to your account.
  3. Equipped: inspect the army you are actually bringing into the match. Add each equipped entry’s current star cost and compare the total with the Star Limit shown in your game.

The reported maximum of four equipped entries is another check. It refers to the entries you choose for the loadout, so do not use that number as a count of the individual soldiers visible on the battlefield.

Use a newer troop in your plan

If your live roster includes a name that is missing here, you can still use the Army Builder. Type the name yourself and enter its current star cost. The tool can total that cost without assigning an invented role or rank to the troop.

After an update or upgrade, check the costs for your whole planned lineup again. Keeping one old value can make a previously valid star total misleading. The Star Limit guide explains how to check the equipment budget before heading into a match.

Questions before you play

Is this every current Command An Army unit?

No. This is a dated reference for ten reported troops. The NEW UNITS update may add more, so use the current unit menu to check the available roster.

Can I change a reported star cost in the Army Builder?

Yes. Known names fill a reported cost as a starting point. Edit that number to match the current unit screen, or enter a custom troop name and its cost.

Does seeing a troop in the tutorial mean I can summon it?

A tutorial appearance does not establish current banner availability or ownership. Check the live recruiting pool, then your collection and equipped display separately.

Does owning more troops increase my Star Limit?

Do not infer your equipment budget from the size of your collection. Read the current Star Limit shown on your account and compare it with the combined cost of your equipped entries.
