Command An Army Classes Guide
Compare Assassin, Sword & Shield and Hammer as personal commander styles. Check the current class menu and choose around how you like to fight.
Reviewed · Independent fan guide
Commander classes are personal fighting styles, separate from unit roles. Choose a class change to solve a control problem you have noticed, then check the current switch price. An army-order or equip problem needs its own check.
Assassin, Sword & Shield and Hammer are community-reported personal class styles. They concern your own fighter; the roles and equipment of your troop entries are separate choices.
Choose the right system to change
| Problem | Start here |
|---|---|
| You lose track of personal actions. | Current controls and practice. |
| Troops remain behind. | Their order and visible response. |
| A troop will not equip. | Ownership, slots and stars. |
| You keep leaving the objective. | Your route and priorities. |
Set a reason for the class comparison
- Reason: One personal-control problem to improve.
- Menu: Current class descriptions, requirements and price.
Compare a personal class change
- Name the problem
Use an observation rather than a verdict such as bad class. Consider when you lose attention, misread a control or end up unable to help your army.
- Inspect the controls you already have
Read the current prompts and practice available actions in an appropriate place. Familiarity might solve the problem. This does not assume every class has a free trial.
- Read the alternative’s actual description
Look for a change that addresses your observation. Do not infer an unlisted movement, defensive or area effect from the class name.
- Compare the spend with your next choice
Check the displayed cost and remaining Gems before confirming. Decide whether this experiment matters more to you than the next purchase you were considering.
- Keep the comparison understandable
After switching, verify the equipped troops and keep the loadout familiar. Assess whether you can use personal controls while noticing when orders are needed. Avoid changing everything at once.
Common mistakes
- Switching to fix a troop-order problem. Check the responding army first.
- Assuming a weapon name describes every ability. Read the current menu.
- Paying for repeated switches after single losses. Set a reason and spending limit.
If you are stuck
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| A class option is unavailable. | Read its current requirement and confirmation price; an earlier guide price may differ. |
| The same problem remains after switching. | Review whether it concerned personal actions or a different system such as orders, equipment or routing. |
Questions before you play
Which class is best?
No measured ranking is established here. Compare the current choices with the actions you can use reliably while managing the army.
Does a class change upgrade troops?
No troop upgrade should be inferred from a commander change. Check the troop’s own progression menus.
What does a switch cost?
Use the confirmation price currently shown rather than a saved community figure.
Class change or another summon?
Identify whether the problem concerns personal controls or your collection. Check what you already own before spending on either.
